Serena Stark Therapy
Queer-Centered,
Nature as Healing,
Embodied
I offer in-person outdoor/nature immersed sessions in the UW arboretum and telehealth sessions. I work with teens 13+ and adults.
Additionally, I offer group therapy for LGBTQ+ teens 14-18.
Outdoor sessions are for already established clients that I have seen for at least 2 virtual sessions, and Telehealth sessions are accessible to anybody who resides in Washington State.
I offer 50 minute sessions and limited 90 minute sessions upon request.
My Services:
Who I typically work with?
-
Queer and Trans Identified
I love working with fellow LGBTQ+ individuals to explore identity and authenticity, how we come to know ourselves, and how that knowing interacts with culture, community, and belonging. I’ve used many labels along my own journey and honor that identity is both fluid and deeply personal. Our work together centers self-trust, body wisdom, and choice. I also have years of experience writing gender-affirming surgery letters as part of a collaborative, affirming process.
-
Gender/Body Based Trauma
Trauma from sexual abuse and assault is something I hold near and dear to my heart. My background includes research on healing through somatic reconnection with the body, individual and group therapy with survivors, work in a domestic violence shelter, and coordinating programs to create survivor-centered resources. I also support clients navigating body trauma shaped by transphobia, misogyny, and other forms of systemic violence that can fracture one’s relationship with embodiment and safety. In this work, I hold complete trust in each survivor’s experience of what happened to them and honor their pace, boundaries, and truth.
-
Eating Disorders in Recovery
I support clients with eating disorders connected to body image and the physical challenges of eating, with a particular focus on OSFED and ARFID. My experience includes residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient levels of care, and I often collaborate with dietitians to provide wraparound support. I approach this work through a Health at Every Size (HAES) framework. Together, we focus on cultivating self-trust, body respect, and practical tools for nourishment.
-
Late/Self Discovered Neurodivergence
Within neurodivergence, I primarily work with late-identified and self-diagnosed adults. My approach is affirming and centered on building self-trust, supporting clients in creating systems and accommodations that nurture well-being and self-validation. I also hold space for the reality that many neurodivergent people carry trauma in the body, so our work often includes gentle, embodied healing alongside developing sustainable ways of being.
-
Anxiety, Depression + more!
Many of my clients come to therapy feeling anxious, shut down, or caught in patterns of perfectionism, control, or self-blame. These experiences often intertwine with family dynamics, grief, or major life transitions. In our work, we slow down to understand what these patterns are protecting and to create space for gentleness and choice. Together, we practice listening to the body’s cues, softening inner pressure, and reconnecting with aliveness and self-trust.

Those looking for more than just talk therapy
This is a therapeutic space to practice leaning into being a mammal and exploring how we can support the body to do what a body naturally needs and wants to do to hold and process emotions, safety, and danger in a world of white supremacy, capitalism, patriarchy, classism, etc
